Bringing culture and the arts to Jamaica, Queens, since the 1970s, the Afrikan Poetry Theatre offers lectures and seminars, writing and poetry workshops, martial arts, music and computer classes, musical showcases, youth programs and workshops, entertainment (such as films, comedy, karaoke and open mic nights), fashion shows, book signings, art exhibitions and even organized trips to Africa. There are also spaces available to rent for private functions.
